Who we are

Bill Splitting (“we”, “us”) operates bill-splitting.com. We provide a browser-based bill splitter. Contact:movitotech@gmail.com.

Summary

The splitter runs in your browser. We do not require accounts and we do not operate a user database for bill inputs. Draft bills, tip defaults, currency preference, and saved people names are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. If you email us, we receive whatever you send. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. Hosting providers may also log standard request data.

Information we collect

• Bill inputs — processed locally in your browser. They are not stored on our servers.
• Local storage — we save convenience data (saved people, preferences, draft bill) only on your device. You can clear this via your browser settings or by starting a new bill / removing saved people in the tool.
• Emails you send — if you contact us, we receive your email address and message content so we can reply.
• Technical data — our hosting provider may log standard request data (for example IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and reliability.
• Analytics — Google Analytics collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, and referral source. Bill amounts, people names, and other splitter inputs are not sent to Google Analytics.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site function and Google Analytics. Analytics cookies help us measure visits and improve the site. Browser settings let you block or delete cookies; analytics may not run if you do. You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

Third-party services

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) for traffic measurement. Google may process data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and Business Data Responsibility pages. We do not sell your personal information.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
